Adam Kilpatrick and the Thar Desert

Three University of Adelaide students have won Australian government scholarships to study in Asia next year. Adam Kilpatrick is completing is PhD in science and he’ll be  working in India to develop remote sensing technology for conservation purposes in the Thar desert. The desert supports  a  population of 20 million people, only slightly smaller than the population of Australia. Pictures of the desert show rolling sand dunes and a few  trees. How does Adam view it?
